Daisy-May's Story
Daisy-May
Thelly Price, a 68-year-old woman from Willington, discovered she had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma thanks to her dog, Daisy-May. The 15-month-old West Highland White Terrier constantly sniffed at Thelly's neck, leading her to find a lump and seek medical attention. Tests revealed cancer, which was caught early and treated successfully. Thelly credits Daisy-May with saving her life and advises others to pay attention to changes in their dog's behavior, as it could be a sign of something serious. Research suggests that dogs' strong sense of smell may enable them to detect cancerous cells, and Thelly's experience is not the first reported case of a dog sniffing out cancer.
